Billy nearly wept in the darkness. Dammit, dammit yes he did. He had to go. All logic told him to stay, but all instinct told him he had to go. He would have to kill the fresh bloom of love that had sprung up between him and Trini by just walking away."It is, but Shadowborg isn't exactly a Crustacean. I redesigned the original, from what I'd seen on the news, adding a number of interesting things. The best one, in my opinion, was something I'd seen the Power Rangers fighting. It was some sort of- living shadow, and it seemed to have the ability to manipulate minds and emotions."
None of the other heroes present understood why the Turbo Rangers and Ghostbusters paled at that revelation. "When was this?" Justin asked carefully.
Les shrugged. "About a year ago, I think."
"You IDIOT!" Franklin yelled, startling everybody. "Do you have ANY idea what you did?"
"No!" Les shot back. "That's why I never drew it up for Nukus. Heck, I didn't know what it was capable of. I didn't WANT that thing to get out. I even tried to talk Nukus out of it, once he found the drawing." Zhane sighed loudly. "You never let me have any fun," he complained, but he allowed Ashley to herd him toward the door.

"We'll have to use the hatches," Cassie told them apologetically, pausing by the one through which she'd entered. "The doors don't actually run off the generator, but they lock when the power goes down for security reasons."

She ducked through the hatch and disappeared, and Zhane followed at Ashley's insistent prodding. She was right behind him, and Andros caught his Ashley's eye before they left the room. She hesitated by the hatch when she saw him watching, and she wrinkled her nose with a rueful smile.

"Is this as weird as I think it is?" Ashley whispered. "I swear, I can't tell who's talking to who anymore."

"Excuse me," Katie interrupted, "but could somebody explain what this means?"

"Walk away. Just walk away. Oh god......" Billy gulped. He sat up in his bed his face etched in moonlight and shadow, nearly doubled over by the gnawing emptiness that threatened him already. He knew what he had to do. He had to do the equivalent of Kimberlys' Letter and set her free. He couldn't ask her to wait for him to come back; for all he knew he might not ever make it home. She deserved to be happy; he owed her that much and he couldn't ask her to waste herself on the slim chance that he might return after some undetermined length of time. And if there was one thing that Billy had a lot of experience at it was losing that which he loved. But he would try and tell her face to face, that much he could do for her.
