Jason Lee Scott yawned as he wandered home from his date with Emily. They had had a nice evening out, watched a good movie and things had been generally...fine. But somehow "fine" didn't seem to be enough anymore. There was a growing sense that he was missing out on something somewhere. Maybe it was having Tommy and Kimberly back together in close proximity. One look at them and you knew there was a rightness about them, a completeness. Rocky and Kat as well, it was incredible how swiftly that relationship had taken off. He grinned ruefully; well he hadn't seen that one coming, not like Billy and Trini. But then they had all been waiting for that relationship to bloom for a long time now. It was a shame that Trini had not been able to stay any longer, but Billy teleported over there relatively frequently. He kicked at the curb as he wandered back."Ecliptor was right about you," he said admiringly. The last few days had been spent in testing her knowledge of a number of things, from hand-to-hand combat to the various arts of stealth. Throughout it all, the Falcon's expression had remained carefully neutral, but Chelsea had enough experience reading body language to know he had been pleasantly surprised.
"So do I pass muster?" she asked. "Will you take me on as an apprentice?" He held out his left hand without a word. There was no way to tear paper quietly, especially in a quiet lecture hall, but she tried to be as inconspicuous as possible. Passing him the torn off corner of her notes, she watched with amusement as Andros leaned forward to crumple the paper under his seat. The chair muffled the noise a little, and she had a sudden image of him as a delinquent kid in grade school.

With a flick of his right wrist, so quickly she wasn't even sure he had done it, Andros lobbed the crumpled up piece of paper at the kid he had pointed out earlier. It struck the shoulder of the blue hooded sweatshirt, no doubt on purpose--Andros had better aim than she did. A better poker face, too... when someone near the blue kid turned around to scan the rest of the room, Andros was already slumped back in his seat, eyes lidded and apparently two seconds from falling asleep.

The Falcon shook his head. "Kid, it'd be an honor, and that's not the sort of thing I say lightly. First things first, though. If you're gonna be my apprentice, call me Duke. 'The Black Falcon' is just a- professional alias."
