As the moons rose high over Phaedos, their silver light clinging longingly to the Temple, Dulcea was about to launch into her evening flight. As she prepared to summon forth her spirit form to soar on the soft moonwinds that swirled around the plateau she felt a slight disturbance in the Great Power. She paused but before she could probe any deeper, she was engulfed in a raging aura of red fire and dropped gasping to the stone floor incapacitated by an overwhelming sense of impending danger and fear. Her Owl Spirit registered a violent reaction of recognition and showed her, vision-locked as she was, an image of the bloodfire wave of warning sweeping through space, leaving none untouched by it's presence, in the Forces of Good and Evil alike."No mistake," Melchor sneered. "Surely, Trath, you've heard the stories about Zedd's half-human whelp, who somehow managed to acquire a powerful Blade? Perhaps the rumors about Zordon's decline are true, if his standards have fallen so low." "Guys?" Ashley repeated with amusement. She could either be amused or impatient, and she was enjoying Andros' enthusiasm far too much to become frustrated. So she just suggested, "Maybe you could summarize for me, so I don't feel completely left out?"

"You're trying to build an ID drive, right?" Andros didn't even wait for Justin's nod before turning to Ashley. "Justin's doing what dozens of other incredibly brilliant people have tried to do and failed in the last decade alone. ID space is like cold fusion on Earth. Everyone thinks it should exist, but no one can figure out how to get there."

Ashley sighed, giving him a patient look. "ID space?" she repeated.

"Interdimensional space," Justin put in. "If we could cross dimensions, we could theoretically access a place of near infinite mass, or momentum, that could propel an object tremendous distances in almost no time at all."

Jamie's eyes flared at Melchor's insinuations, but before she could react, Zarador's voice cracked like a whip. "Guard your tongue, Melchor, or you may find yourself the recipient of a challenge. Lady Jamie is NOT a gentle and forgiving person."
"That is an understatement," Jason grumbled. His remark broke some of the tension, and Jamie cooled off visibly.
"I have earned my position on the Rangers," Jamie said quietly. "And anyone who wishes to state otherwise should examine the threats that I have faced. How would you fare, my lord, if confronted with the demon Nyghtmayr?" Melchor simply glared at her.
"Last I heard," Jalen began easily, "no one who was unworthy could wield an Elemental Blade. Ralthor built that into them as a fail-safe, right?"
"Zedd held the Sword of Fire," Sneris pointed out.
